We spent a lovely Christmas at the Sorensen home. We had a delicious dinner and a nice family fireside on Christmas Eve. The room was stock full of presents and goodies on Christmas morning. Megan was too little to really get any of it (except maybe all the of the lights and bright colors). The very next day we started getting ready for Charity and Chad's wedding. They were getting married on December 29th and the reception was going to be at the house, so we moved furniture out, collected Christmas trees, started preparing the food, etc. It was a busy and fun couple of days..

Megan was in her first car accident (actually the only car accident any of our kids have been in). We were on our way home from ward choir on Sunday (I have been taking Megan with us while the other kids stay home with Katie Armantrout). We were driving down the street and all of a sudden a truck backed up right in front of us. We ran right into it (Dad stepped on the brakes, but we were just too close). The teenage driver of the truck just didn't see us coming. The front of the Honda was pretty smashed up, but the impact wasn't too bad for us. Dad and I were both fine and luckily Megan was strapped into her seat the farthest from the impact. She was just fine. The car was totaled. The blessing in the whole ordeal was that we had just purchased that car two months before for $2000 (we sold our Acura because we just kind of had a feeling). When the car was totaled the insurance settled on $3500 that they would give us. And Dad just found out he would be getting a company truck, so we didn't even need to use that money to buy another car. What a blessing!! But, hopefully that will be the first and last accident she is in for years and years to come.
